We hope this message finds you well. It’s not often we reach out to everyone, but we’d like to share some important updates about Cham Dépan and our work as your local chimney sweep and stove and fireplace specialists here in Chamonix.
Price Adjustment from 1st June 2025
Since launching Cham Dépan in 2019, we've worked hard to keep our prices fair, local, and accessible. However, due to new legal obligations and rising professional costs, we are updating our prices for the first time in five years, starting June 1st, 2025.
From that date, our standard chimney sweeping fee will be €100 excluding VAT.
This small increase helps us maintain the highest standards and comply with new national safety regulations — the Décret de Ramonage (effective July 2023).
📜 What the 2023 Décret de Ramonage Means for Us
The Décret de Ramonage has transformed chimney sweeping in France into a strictly regulated profession. Previously a recommendation, it is now the law that only certified professionals meeting strict criteria can sweep chimneys and issue official certificates.
We must:

Be members of a recognised professional organisation

Hold annual certification (QUALIBAT)

Maintain professional insurance (ASSURANCE RC DECENNALE)

Have year-round legal protection and representation (via BTP74)

Complete ongoing professional training every year
